Are there ads?
tellyowl has no ads of its own. Videos play through YouTube’s player, so YouTube may show its own ads on some videos.
Which devices does it work on?
Any phone, tablet or computer with a modern browser: iPhone, iPad, Android, Chromebook, Mac or PC. Add it to the home screen and it opens full screen, like an app.
Is it safe?
You choose every video. Your kid can’t search or browse, there are no comments, and nobody can message them.
What does my kid see?
Only the lists you picked, with the names you gave them. No recommendations, no feed, no search, no Shorts hole.
Does my kid need an account?
No. They open a private link or scan a QR code. No email, no sign-in, no profile.
How is it different from YouTube Kids?
YouTube Kids shows a filtered catalogue and suggests what to watch next. tellyowl only ever shows what you saved. That also makes it work for older kids who’ve outgrown the Kids catalogue.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes, from your account. Plus runs to the end of the period you paid for, then you’re back on Free. Nothing stops playing.
What data do you collect?
Your email, the playlists you connect, and what was watched and for how long, which you can see on Plus. Nothing about your kid beyond the name you type. No ad trackers, and the analytics don’t use cookies.
Does it work on a TV?
Yes, on any TV with a web browser. Open your kid’s link there and it plays full screen.
Do I need a YouTube account?
Yes, you need one to make playlists. Your kid doesn’t.
